Joint Fabian Society LME edited collection

The Labour Movement for Europe is delighted to have partnered with the Fabian Society on their newest report about our future with the EU.
With over 60% of Brits supporting a closer relationship with the EU, the need for ambitious negotiation has never been clearer.
Contributions to this edited collection include:
- Cabinet Office Minister, Chris Ward MP, who reaffirms the government's intention that 'we want to work with, not against, our EU partners'.
- Our National Chair, Stella Creasy MP, who argues for a 'vision which takes into account the needs of both sides'.
- Chair of the Business and Trade Select Committee, and member of the LME, Liam Byrne MP, makes the case for a UK-EU Economic Security Union, that will facilitate 'coordination, shared intelligence and combined capacity'.
- Fellow member of the LME, member of the Defence Select Committee and former RAF wing commander, Calvin Bailey MP, sets out why 'the UK must connect its defence and security initiatives into a single vision' in order to ensure better military preparedness in an increasingly unstable global political environment.
- Political research manager at YouGov, Dr Patrick English, explains that 'the polling gives us a clear and consistent signal that the public wants the UK to have a closer relationship with the EU'.
- General Secretary of the Musicians' Union, Naomi Pohl, describes the barriers to touring for UK and EU artists alike since Brexit, arguing that 'reaching a deal would benefit both sides'.
General Secretary of the Fabian Society, Joe Dromey, argues that 'with Labour facing twin populisms on the left and right, the public wants change: now is the time to be bold.'
